First attempt at blogging...here goes nothing!

Okay so this is going to be my first go round and blogging, so I hope I do okay with it!  I've enjoyed reading everyone elses blogs as my husband and I have started this process that I only felt right by sharing our experiences too!

I'll start with a little background...we had found the community that we wanted to build in almost as soon as they started selling homes there in Bel Air, MD.  The next big task was figuring out which floor plan was right for us and our family.  We first toured the Palermo because I liked that it didn't have a formal living room as I sometimes feel that can end up being unused space, but we didn't like the feel of the upstairs...it felt very closed off to us.  So our next stop was the Rome and as soon as my husband walked upstairs into the loft, he said he didn't want to look at anymore homes and so our decision was made!

I was surprised at how quickly they have you start picking out your options.  The day we went to tour to visit the community and told the SR which model we were interested in he already had us sit down and start choosing layout upgrades, elevations, etc.  I'll add our options that we ended up with in a separate post.

We break ground in a little over a week and I can't wait to see things really start moving!  As of right now, we still just have a stake in the ground, but not for long...

    1. Amber, one last thing...turn off the word verification too. It makes bloggers decipher this weird word pattern before we can leave comments. Ughhh! Thank you so much!

    1. Thanks! Took me a little bit to figure out, but I'm working on it!

We decided on Elevation E with Partial Stone...love it!! I am working on a post with all of our options, was just taking forever to get pictures loaded.

    2. I really like elevation E!!!! It is going to look fabulous with the partial stone!! Sometimes my computer gets quirky too when loading pictures. Select all the pictures at once and THAN hit the button that says, "add selected" This will save you some time and your pictures will show up in a row to view instead of bloggers having to click on each photo.

    1. Welcome to you too! We signed our purchase agreement back in January, but it was contingent on the sale of our current home, which happened in March. Our start date got delayed a little because the community we are building in is selling like crazy and by the time we released our contingency that's just where we fell in the start list.

Look forward to following along your journey!

    2. Looking forward to meeting you as well. It's crazy how fast they put them up. The house to our right settles a week after us and I think you are the week after that. We only live a couple miles away so I stop by almost everyday to see the progress. Even the little changes are exciting.
